“QUEER!!!!” my one-man show opens tomorrow night for a one-night performance at The City of Imagination, 2726 54th Street South, in Gulfport, Florida. I have rewritten a lot of the show from its original version which I had done at the Lehigh Valley Story Festival in 2008. For one thing, I am not as angry as I was when I first wrote the piece and things have changed a lot with regards to Queer politics and my life experiences.
It’s going to be a great show, so, if you’re in the area of Gulfport, Florida, come.
Tonight, I am going to Wordier Than Thou, an open mic night of short fiction and storytelling. I’m going to be reading my short story, “Some Dance to Remember,” which was inspired by an incident in John Berendt’s book, “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” I also submitted the story to the Wordier Than Thou ‘Zine, scheduled to be published later this year.
Anyway, thanks for reading my blog. Wish me luck. I’m going to need it.
